Arthur Klassick (German Primer)

Arthur is thrilled to return to Shakespeare in the small but pivotal role of German Primer. Arthur has had an incredibly diverse career, spanning over 5 decades in commercials, film, and theatre. Favorite film roles include Ledger #3 in THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL, starring Michael Caine, Howard's End in EDUCATING RITA (also starring Michael Caine), The Complete Works of Pablo Neruda in the Academy Award-winning IL POSTINO, and The Bible in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, INHERIT THE WIND, PRESUMED INNOCENT, and MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (1947 and 1994). You may not recognize him from his role in DEAD POETS' SOCIETY, where he bulked up to 1455 pages to play the formidable War and Peace before slimming down to a mere 137 to play Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar in ABC-TV's STOLEN CHILDREN, starring Meredith Baxter Birney. Commercial roles include Swimsuit Issue for Sports Illustrated, and a stint as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for a national television spot for Barnes and Noble. On Broadway, he has played The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in SHADOWLANDS, The Book of Genesis in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, starring Donny Osmond; and he recently garnered a Tony nomination for his honest and poignant performance in the title role in last season's THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK.
